About the
business summit

Organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (CCI France Japon), under the patronage of the French Ambassador to Japan, the 5th edition of the French-Japanese Business Summit “Japan as a model for the future: what learnings can be relevant for the world?” will once again feature inspiring discussions from prestigious speakers and will be an opportunity for high-level networking.

The French-Japanese Business Summit 2022 will bring together international speakers and participants from diverse backgrounds to share their visions about the Japanese model, its strengths and weaknesses, how Japan can try to overcome its shortcomings and exploit its potential to share its learnings with the rest of the world.

Our objective through this Summit is to promote the strengths and know-how of both French and Japanese companies, reinforce cooperation between these two countries and develop both strategic and business-related contacts in order to foster a sustainable and desirable future.

PROGRAM

After the most intense crisis the world has faced since 2008, it is time for institutions and countries to adapt and reform again in light of the underlying issues the world is facing that the covid crisis has highlighted. As Japan strives toward a new form of capitalism that is more conscious of these new issues, there is much to learn from its industrial model’s strengths and from how it is trying to overcome its shortcomings. By focusing on how Japan can concentrate on its core values as a nation of innovation and technology but also a nation of creativity and culture, we can start to grasp what the rest of the world can learn from this model to move towards a more sustainable future that respects both the planet and its workers.

To attempt to address these issues, the 2022 French-Japanese Business Summit will gather top-level international speakers from diverse backgrounds – from institutions, citizens, and businesses to social sciences, art, and architecture – to share their visions, their strategies, and the opportunities they foresee.

Messages from

Following the success of the France-Japan Business Summit for the past four years, the CCI France-Japan is delighted to organize its fifth edition in 2022, which will focus on “Japan as a model for the future” and what learnings can be relevant for the world in this trying time where both environmental and social issues are pushing our economic models to their breaking point. This Summit will once again feature prestigious guest speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds, who will share their visions on innovation and technology but also creativity and culture amongst many other features that could provide inspiration for the future. An audience of opinion leaders, journalists, and officials will have the opportunity to reflect and exchange on the changes to come and the learnings to retain to best overcome the issues at hand.

Since its foundation in 1918, the French Chamber of Commerce has been playing a decisive role in fostering and reinforcing partnerships between Japanese and French companies and more profoundly, in bringing France and Japan together in many ways. By allowing them to share their visions, learn from each other and try to find common solutions to the current challenges our societies are facing, the Business Summit will once again be a unique opportunity to contribute further to the longstanding connection between our two countries.
